MISSION GREEN EARTH - HARITHAM '09

As part of eradicating poverty in the whole world, United nations set millennium goals in which environmental protection activities were highlighted as prior concern. To achieve the goals, Art of living foundation is conducting world wide program in 170 countries.

In India, planting 10 crore plants is set as target. Forest department and other governmental and nongovernmental agencies join in this campaign. In this second year in the month of south west monsoon season, 53000 plants will be planted in households in the state of Kerala through various voluntary agencies.
This will be documented in such a manner that each plant will be given a serial number, name, owner’s name and address and phone number, location of the plant, will be documented and will be verified its growth seasonally.
In addition to this another 47000 plants will be planted in public places with the same type of documentation. In this way a total of one lack plants will be planted in the state. Kerala forest department is collaborating with this program. Local bodies, NGOs and voluntary workers join this program.
